During the first year (or until age 18, whichever comes first), provisional license holders under 18 may not drive between midnight and 5:00 AM unless accompanied by a licensed driver 25 or older, or driving to and from work or school.
Provisional license passenger limits
For the first 6 months, a provisional driver may not carry passengers under 20 who are not immediate family. For the second 6 months, no more than 3 passengers under 20 who are not immediate family.
Total ban on mobile devices while driving
Oregon law makes it unlawful to drive while using a mobile electronic device. This includes texting or talking on a cell phone even with a hands-free accessory, and applies to all drivers.
The Basic Rule for speed
